Armin Opitz is the MSAT technology transfer leader for Sanofi’s Framingham, MA campus. In this role he is responsible for the successful tech transfer, and validation of new processes into the Framingham campus, particularly the new integrated bioprocessing facility. With several products in various stages of tech transfer Armin’s MSAT team also supports the routine manufacturing operations in the facility.
Previously, Armin led a team that characterized the physics of bioreactors and biotechnology equipment using experimental work combined with numerical modeling and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). He has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware with more than 10 years’ of experience in the biotechnology industry.
