Dean Morris is currently the head of the Autonomous Production Unit for second generation product manufacturing at Sanofi's Bio-Campus in Framingham, MA. In this role he is responsible for overseeing all commercial manufacturing operations and new product introductions into the new Digitally Enabled, Integrated Continuous Biomanufacturing Facility.
Prior to taking on the additional responsibility for commercial manufacturing operations, Dean served as the Program Director responsible for new manufacturing investment. In this role Dean managed the design, construction, and commercial start-up of the new multi-product manufacturing facility. The new Digitally Enabled, Integrated Continuous Biomanufacturing Facility is unique within the Sanofi network in that it leverages a lean flexible multi-product design, intensified second generation processes, single use technologies, and a fully digital manufacturing platform. The facility is the new focal point of Sanofi’s integrated, cross-functional, biologics campus. A critical global hub for more than 30 years and an integral part of the Boston biotech ecosystem, the Massachusetts campus provides for co-location of all infrastructure and activities required to speed the delivery of innovative new therapies to patients, from early stage research and process development, through clinical and commercial manufacturing. Dean holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and has over 23 years of varied experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, and biologics industries. Dean has been with Sanofi since 2011 holding key roles in Manufacturing Science and Technology and Quality prior to his current role managing the Integrated Continuous Biomanufacturing Facility. Prior to joining Sanofi, Dean led the Engineering and Technology Transfer functions for a sterile injectable manufacturer and provided technical and compliance consulting for various organizations in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and biologics industries.
