Derek Schorzman, PhD

Derek Schorzman, Ph.D. joined Liquidia in 2006 where he serves as Vice President of Manufacturing Sciences. During his nearly 20-year tenure at Liquidia, Dr. Schorzman has been dedicated to the development and scale-up of the company’s proprietary PRINT® technology, which evolved from his post-doctoral work at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Previously, he held various scientific, engineering and management roles including positions at Bausch & Lomb and Becton, Dickinson and Company developing medical devices. Dr. Schorzman is credited with 32 United States patents and has authored six peer-reviewed papers. He holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University and a B.S. in Chemistry from Utah State University.
