Fabrice Schlegel, PhD

Fabrice Schlegel is Director of Data Sciences at Amgen, where he leads Modeling and AI efforts in Process Development. His work spans digital twins of products and processes, advanced decision intelligence, and long-running agentic workflows that help teams make better decisions across process development, technology transfer, and manufacturing. Fabrice earned his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from MIT and brings deep experience in first-principles modeling, data-driven modeling, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology process development. Since joining Amgen in 2015, he has applied engineering, data science, and AI to make biotechnology development more predictive, reduce experimental burden, and accelerate decision-making. As both a hands-on contributor and people leader, Fabrice is known for building high-performing teams and developing colleagues while working at the convergence of compute and biology to solve complex problems in product development and manufacturing.
