Jerry Foster finds daily inspiration in the process of uniting project teams to create beautiful, high-functioning facilities. As a Principal in ZGF’s DC office and with 24 years of practice, Jerry has proven himself an effective leader and project manager for projects ranging from hospital and cancer centers to clinical research facilities and academic and campus environments.

He has played an active role on notable projects such as Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Yawkey Center for Cancer Care, recipient of the IIDA New England Chapter Best Healthcare Design award; The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Medical Behavioral Unit, recipient of the IIDA Healthcare Interior Design award for Pediatric Hospitals; Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, New Inpatient Bed Tower Program Development; and the National Institute of Health, which have served as flexible spaces for healing and education that encourage collaboration and creativity.

Jerry’s strengths lie in his ability to foster transparency and open communication among project teams, anticipating challenges before they arise, and guiding complex projects. His experience has involved executing all project phases, from programming and conceptual studies through working drawings and construction administration.

Jerry earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
