Karen McCarthy

Karen McCarthy is responsible for the new large-scale fed batch manufacturing suite at Janssen Sciences Ireland. She joined the Quality Team at Janssen in 2012 and lead the Quality workstream for the BioCork 2 project which was responsible for all QA and QC aspects of incorporating large scale fed batch manufacturing at Janssen Sciences Ireland.

Karen has 20 years’ experience in a regulated Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Environment. She holds a BSc in Microbiology from National University of Ireland Galway and a MEngSc in Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical Engineering from University College Cork. Karen also has PG Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality systems to fulfil the EU directive educational requirements for the Qualified Person Role in Ireland.
