Karsten Behrend

Karsten studied chemical engineering at the university of Stuttgart, Germany, and held a PhD in bioprocess engineering in the same university. After initial positions in environmental process engineering, he has been working in various positions in a leading European pharmaceutical engineering company (formerly M+W Group, now Exyte) for 20 years, mainly in the field of biopharmaceutical projects. In 2016 Teva offered Karsten the opportunity to be the Lead Technology Head for the new multi-product biotech plant (Genesis) in terms of GxP plant and process design. His current position as Head of Engineering & Automation includes to manage all operational technical plant functions for Teva Biotech.
