Katja Heß is a biologist with a specialization in stem cell biology and developmental genetics. She earned her PhD from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, where she conducted foundational research in developmental genetics. Her postdoctoral work at Lund University and the University of Copenhagen focused on human stem cells and pancreatic cell development. During this time, she led projects involving cell line development and contributed to patent submissions. Transitioning to industry, Katja accumulated over a decade of experience in quality management, production leadership, and strategic support roles. At Takeda Singen, she played a pivotal role in establishing a new vaccine production facility and remains actively engaged in its ongoing development and expansion. Currently, Katja leads the Business Support Vaccines & MBR Design department, where she drives cross-functional collaboration, spearheads digital integration initiatives such as MES implementation, and strengthens production frameworks in alignment with global strategic roadmaps. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, attending concerts, and exploring new cultures and destinations.
