Matthias Zelenka

Matthias Zelenka is Corporate Director for Process Engineering at VTU Engineering, responsible for leading approx. 400 process engineers across 6 countries. He holds a Master’s degree in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering from TU Graz and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Over more than a decade, Matthias has managed and delivered complex engineering projects with investment volumes up to €400 million. His track record covers the full lifecycle of pharmaceutical facilities, from concept and detail design to commissioning and qualification. He has successfully implemented large-scale bioreactor suites, fermentation and chromatography systems, virus filtration and ultrafiltration skids, and plasma fractionation plants. His international track record spans Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, supporting global industry leaders. With extensive experience in managing cross-functional teams and aligning technical execution with client requirements. In his current role, Matthias is contributing to shape and strengthen engineering excellence at VTU.
