Nicholas Guros received his B.S. in chemical engineering from Cornell University in 2012. He then worked as a process engineer at a biotechnology company in Boston, MA for two years before starting his Ph.D. in chemical engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. Through a collaboration with NIST in Gaithersburg, MD, Nicholas was able to pursue both experimental research in biosensors and molecular dynamics simulations before graduating in 2019. He has been published in the Biophysical Journal, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, RCS Analyst, and PNAS. His interests include bioprocess and mechanistic modeling, process analytics technology, and advanced bioreactor controls.
