Sanjay Samudre is a seasoned pharmaceutical operations executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience across sterile manufacturing, pharmaceutical compounding (503A and 503B), medical devices, contract manufacturing (CDMO), and global supply chain operations. He has a proven track record of building and scaling complex manufacturing organizations, driving operational transformation, and delivering significant business growth in highly regulated environments. Sanjay currently serves as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Manufacturing Operations at ImprimisRx, a subsidiary of Harrow (NASDAQ: HROW), a rapidly growing ophthalmic pharmaceutical company dedicated to improving eye care and patient outcomes. In this role, he provides executive leadership for manufacturing operations, supply chain, engineering, technical services, and site performance. He is responsible for ensuring reliable product supply, strengthening operational infrastructure, and scaling manufacturing capabilities to support Harrow’s expanding ophthalmic product portfolio and long-term commercial growth strategy. Prior to this role, Sanjay served as Vice President, External Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Technical Operations at Harrow, where he led strategic oversight of contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs) and external supply chain partnerships. In this capacity, he was responsible for aligning external manufacturing capabilities with the company’s commercial objectives while strengthening supply chain resilience and operational execution. Sanjay also served as Vice President of Manufacturing and Technical Operations at Empower Pharmacy, where he led manufacturing operations (503A and 503B) and research and development across multiple sites. During his tenure, he played a key role in identifying and securing a 180,000-square-foot sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing facility to support long-term growth. He was also part of the leadership team that executed a $70M+ acquisition and integration, while leading scale-up initiatives for the GLP-1 product portfolio. Earlier in his career, Sanjay held several leadership roles at ImprimisRx, progressing from Director of Manufacturing to Vice President of Manufacturing and Technical Services. In this role, he led manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, validation, and technology transfer functions across multiple facilities. Under his leadership, the organization scaled operations from approximately $14 million to more than $90 million in annual revenue, driven by successful product launches, operational expansions, and improved manufacturing efficiencies. Prior to ImprimisRx, Sanjay served as Director of Operations at Teligent Pharma, where he led manufacturing, packaging, engineering, supply chain, and process improvement teams supporting topical and injectable pharmaceutical operations. During his tenure, he played a key role in preparing the facility for regulatory inspections, implementing operational performance metrics, and supporting a $55M capital expansion program to upgrade the manufacturing infrastructure. Earlier in his career, Sanjay held operations and manufacturing leadership roles at Mediatech (a Corning subsidiary), Qualitest Pharmaceuticals (Endo Health), CIBA Vision (a Novartis company), Patheon, Apotex, and Johnson & Johnson, where he gained extensive experience in sterile manufacturing, pharmaceutical process development, facility expansion, and operational transformation. Throughout his career, Sanjay has led large-scale manufacturing expansions, complex technology transfers, operational turnaround initiatives, and supply chain transformations. He is widely recognized for building high-performing teams, driving operational discipline, and fostering cultures focused on safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Sanjay holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Pune, India, with U.S. credential equivalency in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He has completed executive leadership programs at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, along with advanced training in leadership development, Lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
