Sarah Botham

Sarah Botham is an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and CQV Turnover Manager with more than 14 years of experience supporting capital projects in regulated life sciences environments. Her experience spans fabrication, construction, commissioning, qualification, and operational readiness, with a strong focus on improving execution quality while proactively managing risk to protect compliance and project schedules. Ms. Botham is deeply involved in industry standards development and currently serves as Vice Chair of the General Requirements Subcommittee for the ASME BioProcessing Equipment (BPE) Standard. She is also a member of the Surface Finish and Materials Joining subcommittees, where she contributes to advancing guidance related to polymeric materials welding. In addition, she serves as Vice Chair of the American Welding Society (AWS) QCPI Subcommittee, which is developing the first U.S. ANSI standard for qualification and certification of plastic welding inspectors. She brings a practical, field-informed perspective to standards application and capital project execution, guided by a “plan slow, build fast” philosophy that emphasizes early cross-disciplinary alignment, constructability, and sustainable quality outcomes.
