Thomas Centner, PhD

Dr. Thomas Centner is a GMP and pharmaceutical facility expert with more than 20 years of experience across pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical development, ATMPs, vaccines, and GMP manufacturing. As Principal Consultant at io-group, he advises pharmaceutical, med-tech, and life sciences companies on GMP facility concepts and general planning, combining deep process understanding with engineering, automation, and regulatory compliance expertise. Dr. Centner has held senior and leadership positions at Sanofi, Merckle Biotec, and MediGene, where he supported complex multidisciplinary projects at the interface of technology, regulation, and operations. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Heidelberg.
