Alexander Marchut

Alex Marchut was a Principal Scientist in the Advanced Technology Center of Excellence within Technical Operations of Janssen Supply Chain from January 2015 to April 2020. In this role, Alex used modeling to support technology transfer of drug product and drug substance processes, making process characterization both more efficient and more robust. In April 2020 Alex moved to Esperion where he is an Associate Director of Process Optimization within Technical Operations. Alex completed his bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania in 2000 and subsequently earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University in 2006. He was then hired at Bristol-Myers Squibb as a founding member of the Computational Process Engineering group where he supported drug substance and drug product scale-up. Alex was subsequently recruited to Abbott (later AbbVie) where he worked as an Engineering Lead in their drug substance Process R&D division. Immediately prior to joining Janssen Supply Chain, Alex worked for a year at a start-up in Singapore called Prochem Solutions.
