Angel Alvarez-Mangual has been at Cellectis since October 2019. During the initial year, Angel worked as the process engineer defining technical transfer strategies and product adaptation from the Cellectis process development team in Paris to Cellectis-Raleigh new GMP facilities. Currently, Angel is in charge of the process engineering team at the Raleigh facilities as senior Manager of Process Sciences. Angel’s team is accountable for direct support, monitoring, and successful completion of the technical transfer activities to the Cellectis’ new state-of-the-art drug substance/drug product manufacturing plant for allogeneic T-cell therapies, located in Raleigh, NC. Prior to Cellectis, Angel spent 7 years at Novartis in management roles within the Manufacturing group. During the last 2 years, Angel provided special support to Novartis Manufacturing Sciences and Technology group in NJ during the commercial launch of the first CAR-T cell therapy product approved by FDA. Before Novartis, Angel spent 10 years at Schering-Plough Products in Puerto Rico working primarily on process improvement and logistic activities. From 2004-2012 Angel attended University of Michigan where he obtained a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering working on Systems Biology, cancer gene expression data analysis, and post-doctoral work in cancer biology.
