Senior Process Engineer, National Resilience, Inc.

Safa Amiri is a Process Engineer III at National Resilience Inc. in Alachua, Florida, at the Advanced Development Manufacturing (ADM) facility within the Manufacturing Sciences & Technology team. He is leading and supporting the capacity expansion project with respect to equipment onboarding for manufacturing readiness.

Safa holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State University graduated in 2018. During his Ph.D., he designed, manufactured, and optimized small-scale thermal water desalination (multiple-effect distillation system) that can be coupled with a biomass pyrolysis system to provide clean water to remote areas, using locally available biowaste such as agricultural wastes. His entrepreneurial pursuits were rewarded through the National Science Foundation’s I-Corp program, a customer discovery for innovative and new technologies for emerging markets. Besides his stint in water industry, Safa got involved in Biotechnology in 2017, when he was a manufacturing engineering intern in RTI Surgical in Alachua, Florida. His first exposure to how Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) protocols for process equipment outside of his doctoral and entrepreneurial activities.
