Mr. Gunter BAUMGARTNER

Gunter Baumgartner is currently the Global Head of Engineering at Takeda Pharmaceuticals International AG in Zurich (SVP for Global Engineering at Takeda HQ for Manufacturing & Supply) with responsibilities for CAPEX portfolio, global projects and all engineering support for 30+ manufacturing network sites and 150+ Plasma collection centers. He also serves as Advisory Board Member of Takeda Germany GmbH. Prior to these roles, Gunter successfully led a major, four-year Greenfield investment project related to new sterile liquids and solids manufacturing plants in Russia. Prior to managing the investment project, Gunter held various management positions at a manufacturing site (API, Bio- and Pharma manufacturing) over a 10-year period. Gunter has been a member of ISPE since 2005. Gunter was ISPE international Board Member from 2018-2020 and is the Chair of the ISPE DACH (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) Affiliate since 2016. He is also a member of the ISPE FOYA evaluation committee. Gunter holds degrees in general management from the University of St. Gallen and the Henley Business School. Prior to studying general management, Gunter attended the Graz Technical University of Mechanical & Process Engineering/Technology.
