Stephen Thoman

Stephen Thoman is a Supplier Relationship Manager with Eli Lilly and Company. He has two decades of experience working in facility planning with a focus on guiding occupancy strategy and capital project delivery. Steve has a keen interest in the use of technology to improve utilization of facilities while providing positive customer experiences. With a passion for research technologies, Steve played a key role in developing Lilly’s flexible laboratory design solutions to lower reconfiguration cost and speed delivery of lab renovations. Steve is a graduate of Purdue University with a major in Biochemistry. Prior to joining Lilly, he worked as a research scientist focusing on development of analytical methods for protein analysis. He also served as an analytical instrumentation specialist for Waters Corporation where he was a two-time recipient of the President’s Award for Technical Excellence. In 2019, he was named a recipient of Lilly Research Laboratories Innovator award for his work in developing a novel operations model for Lilly’s Gateway Laboratories incubator in South San Francisco. Steve and his wife Jan are the parents of three children. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Steve enjoys trail riding near his home as well as the back country of the Western US.
